I met Terry at North Garland High School. There weren't many of us Motorcycle guys at the time. He was certainly the best! Him with his blue dodge van.The biggest thrill was watching him and his Bultaco 360 practice at the track beside Williams Stadium in Garland. So fast and so majestic... Pitched sideways
and a 60 ft. roost shooting out from the rear tire. When Terry rode everyone else stopped riding and watched him. I had the opportunity to put in a small amount of time riding with him in another practice area. He was on a Honda 125 4 stroke and I was on my new 76 YZ125. I figured I had the edge. I never could pass Terry but being close to him in the turns, and seeing the balance and skill he had was awe inspiring. How he kept that 125 Honda in front was simply amazing to watch, so much talent and so skilled, each stroke of power, precisely used .
It's been 30 years since those good old days. I had the opportunity to bump into Terry at the Indy Dealer trade show this year and re introduce myself. We shared a few minutes and he was off to a booth to sign autographs. Still smilin'

I have been around racing since i was able to walk. My brother raced with Terry I had the great pleasure of talking to him and taking pictures at the last ama flat track race at portland i will look up the pictures and post them here what a great guy and a real person fame didnt get to him he was always himself walk to his bedside and chant poovey poovey poovey that always made him smile if he won or lost. We love him from coast to coast and wish him the best love ya all Gary Blair

I don't know if you would consider this a story...but my few moments of sharing time
with Terry left me with the impression of what a nice man he is. At one race, my
husband and I were outside the pits...and spotting Terry at his tent, me in my
bright yellow T-shirt with a home printed, iron-on picture of Terry on his #18 race
bike, started to jump and clap and wish him a good race. I hollered I would be
rooting for him. Another time, I said hello and he asked my name, I told him I was
GSXR's girl. He said "Oh, yeah....I like to read what you write on the forum." I
thought imagine that, pretty cool. At an '04 race, I hobbled up to his tent and
asked him to sign my cast, which he did. And at the finale at DuQuoin I brought my
stuffed Pooh Bear to have him autograph, of which I keep with my race memorabilia.
So as you can see, he sure is one of my favorites. My heart goes out to his family,
because I am sure they are missing his 'smiling' face. My thoughts and prayers are
with you.
